The Supporter’s Club

The Liverpool Supporter’s Club of Chicago (@Chicagolfc) was founded in 2007, after a joint effort from Kevin Achettu (@WhatWouldKevDo), Bryn Griffiths (@brynola), and John Koutoupis. The Club meets on matchdays at The Globe Pub in the Northcenter neighborhood on the northside of the city!
Since our inception in 2007, we have grown from a few fans here and there to over 150 members by 2009. Over the years, we have had our fair amount to cheer, cry and moan about… but whatever the time, weather or day of the week, Liverpool are our team and we’re all red through and through.
Once the supporter’s club had a solid, local foundation to build upon, club member and Sunday league co-captain Dan Skinner (@soccerhaus) stepped forward to help the club move forward in the marketing aspects, so that we could reach out to even more reds. After setting up a solid social media presence, the supporter’s club recruited web designer and fellow red, Brian Thiel (@designedbybrian), to create an informative and easy-to-navigate website.
Dan, Bryn, Kevin,  John and Brian have  worked together to ensure that the Chicago Branch of the Liverpool supporter’s club will be easy to find whether you’re on Twitter, Facebook, at The Globe, or just browsing the world wide web! We’re extremely proud of the fact that this supporter’s club, in it’s entirety, was built by Liverpool supporters from Chicago. Truly for the people & by the people!
We also play our own brand of football (soccer, if you will) in a local league run by Windy City Wanderers FC. We play in our Liverpool shirts and try our best to do the real Liverpool FC proud.
Come visit us at the Globe (come to the back room on matchdays) and explore our website/blog to learn more!
